Marie-Aude is the Partner in charge of our International Dispute Resolution practice.
Over the last 20 years, she has been acting for French and international companies, executives, investment funds, and international organizations in pre-litigation, litigation, and domestic and international arbitration.
She also assists her clients in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution methods aimed at reaching an amicable settlement.
Marie-Aude acts as Counsel, Arbitrator, and Mediator.
She has the specificity of having spent 7 years of her career in-house, in the legal departments of blue chip companies (ARKEMA, AMAZON, and AREVA, now ORANO). In her capacity as GC - Head of Disputes of ORANO for several years, she led the most sensible disputes for the French nuclear energy giant (litigation, arbitration, down raids & investigations, pre-litigation and ADRs) on a global scale.
Thanks to her experience as client, Marie-Aude fully understands the expectations and constraints of the business. She stands out in the market for her ability to resolve complex disputes by considering all aspects of the situation (legal, operational, regulatory, reputational, etc.) as well as her business-oriented mindset and results-driven approach. Accustomed to handling high-profile cases, she is also comfortable with crisis communication.
Marie-Aude is individually distinguished in International Arbitration, Commercial Litigation and Mediation by Chambers EMEA and Best Lawyers. She is also on the Legal 500 Arbitration Power List (France). The practices she led in her previous firms led them to be ranked by LEGAL 500 EMEA and LEADERS LEAGUE in International Arbitration, Commercial Litigation and Mediation.
She also trains the legal and operational teams of various major groups of companies on impacting topics in Dispute Resolution.
Marie-Aude is regularly invited to speak on strategic questions related to litigation, arbitration and ADRs, in key professional events in France and abroad. She is also invited to share her expertise on the liability associated with the Corporate Duty of Care of the major companies, notably with regards to the protection of Human Rights throughout their supply chains.
She further lectures on "How to use mediation to solve cross-border disputes" in the post-graduate Master of Law programs of Professor Lucie Mayer, Professor Jean-Baptiste Racine and Professor Cécile Chesnais (University Paris 2 – Panthéon-Assas) and "The liabilities associated with the duty of care of major corporates" in the post-graduate Master of Law program of Professor Louis d'Avout (University Paris 2 – Panthéon-Assas).
Marie-Aude previously taught Private International Law in the post-graduate Masters of Law program of Professor Pierre Mayer (at the time - University Paris 1 - Panthéon-Sorbonne) and Professor Christophe Seraglini (University of Paris 11 – Saclay -Versailles); International Business law at the leading French business school ESSEC and Tort and Contract Law to the students of Professor Murielle Fabre-Magnan (University Paris 1 - Panthéon-Sorbonne).
Marie-Aude holds a Master’s degree in Private International Law & International Business Law from Paris I University (Pantheon-Sorbonne). She also studied in Iona College (New-York).
